Maintenance Operative (Wet Room Specialist) Location: StevenageContract Type: Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP Hours: 37 hours per weekOverview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Operative to join a busy Property Services team. This role is ideally suited to a multi-skilled operative with strong experience in wet room installations and repairs, particularly cap and cove vinyl flooring, wet room flooring systems, and associated maintenance work. The successful candidate will have a broad maintenance background and be comfortable carrying out a variety of repairs within occupied residential properties, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and customer service. Key Responsibilities Carry out responsive repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works within residential properties. Install, repair, and maintain wet room flooring systems, including cap and cove vinyl flooring, floor preparation, hot welding, and finishing works. Undertake wet room adaptations, repairs, and upgrades to ensure properties remain safe, accessible, and compliant. Complete associated wall finishes, minor tiling, sealing, and making-good work within bathrooms and wet areas. Carry out a range of general maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing repairs, patching, plastering, flooring repairs, and decorating work. Diagnose faults and identify effective repair solutions. Conduct property inspections and report any additional repairs required. RequirementsProven experience as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Trade Operative, or Flooring Operative within a maintenance environment. Strong experience installing and repairing cap and cove vinyl flooring and wet room flooring systems.Knowledge of floor preparation, latex screeding, tanking systems, and wet room construction. Broad maintenance experience across multiple trades. Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload. DesirableExperience working within social housing, local authority, or planned maintenance environments.Experience with disabled adaptations and accessible bathroom installations.Benefits Opportunity to secure permanent employment following the temporary period.
