Primary Teacher

Apply Now

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3/4 Class Teacher to join our supportive team from September 2026 on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist setting, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

About the Role

You will lead a small Year 3/4 class of pupils with SEMH needs, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet individual learning requirements. You will create a nurturing, structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and the wider school team, you will play a key role in supporting both the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Develop positive relationships that support pupils' emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced significant challenges.
  • Resilience, patience and a positive, solution-focused approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

For more information or to discuss further, please apply now or contact your local Reed office and ask to speak with Sophie Lamont.
