Apply Now

Do you want to be part of a vibrant, diverse community that values hard work, trust, and fairness above all else?

Can you establish joyful but rigorous classroom routines that get the absolute best out of every young person?

Are you ready to make an extraordinary, immediate impact from the very first day of the September term?

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious educator to step into a full-time, temporary Teacher of Humanities position starting this September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, academically rigorous lessons across History, Geography, and Religious Studies. Working on a temporary contract, the individual will step into a highly supportive environment with completely clear systems and processes already in place, allowing them to hit the ground running. The role is designed for a specialist who understands that powerful knowledge changes lives, and who wants to focus on great teaching rather than unnecessary administration.

About the School

Located in Leeds, this school is known for its high expectations and deliberate, supportive culture. The institution operates on a powerful, simple mission: to ensure all students thrive in a top job and lead a great life. Built upon the core values of hard work, trust, and fairness, the academy provides a joyful, disruption-free learning space through clear, consistent habits and structured daily routines. It proudly champions its teaching staff by offering innovative working patterns to ensure everyone has the time and energy to perform at their best.

Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
  • Subject Specialism: A degree or strong academic background in History, Geography, or a related Humanities discipline
  • Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.
Skills
  • Curriculum Mastery: Deep, specialised knowledge of the Humanities disciplines to deliver impactful learning.
  • Routine Implementation: Exceptional ability to establish, teach, and maintain micro-routines within the classroom.
  • Behaviour Management: De-escalating disruption swiftly while upholding strict accountability and same-day corrections.
  • Relationship Building: Nurturing strong, professional rapport with a diverse and vibrant student body.
  • Resilience & Humility: Staying positive, reliable, open-minded, and motivated when navigating challenging situations.
  • Data Literacy: Analysing student assessment data to differentiate and direct targeted interventions effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Academically Rigorous Lessons: Plan and execute high-quality Humanities lessons that align with a knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Maintain High Expectations: Uphold the school's 100% standard for behaviour, ensuring learning time is maximized and free from distractions.
  • Embed Learning Habits: Consistently implement the academy's daily routines, framing student success around mastery, autonomy, and purpose.
  • Provide Quality Feedback: Offer honest, constructive, and kind feedback to students to cultivate self-determination and academic progress.
  • Support Co-Curricular Electives: Engage in the academy's extended day by helping to lead built-in enrichment and intervention sessions.
  • Track Pupil Progress: Use data-driven assessments to track student growth and bridge gaps in learning effectively.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work alongside a strong, aligned leadership model to ensure all students move in the same positive direction.
  • Foster Community Links: Build and maintain respectful, active partnerships with families to encourage positive student behaviours.
  • Promote Values Daily: Act as a role model by actively demonstrating the core values of hard work, trust, and fairness.
  • Commit to Personal Growth: Participate fully in twice-weekly staff practice and training sessions to continuously refine teaching habits.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for career progression and ongoing professional development.
  • The chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A Refer a Friend scheme where you could earn a £300 Love2shop voucher (subject to terms and conditions).
