Maths Graduates - Graduate Teaching AssistantSutton September 2026 Start

Pay: £95-£120 per day, dependent upon experience, qualifications, training and responsibilities.

Academics is acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this temporary Graduate Teaching Assistant position.

Are you a Maths Graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience before progressing into teaching, education, finance, engineering, data analysis or another mathematics-related career?

We are recruiting Maths Graduates for full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant roles in supportive secondary schools across Sutton and the surrounding South West London area. These long-term temporary positions provide excellent classroom experience while developing your understanding of teaching, learning and mathematical development.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support students in and out of the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. Maths Graduates are highly valued for their subject knowledge, logical thinking and ability to support numeracy and problem-solving skills.

The Role

• Full-time temporary Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Secondary schools across Sutton and the surrounding South West London area
• Supporting students across Key Stages 3-5
• Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom management
• Supporting students with SEND where required
• September 2026 start

Requirements

• Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Academics
• Previous experience working with children or young people (education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring or similar) is desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• Professional, reliable and proactive approach
