Technical Manager - Food Manufacturing (6 Month FTC)
£55,000 - £60,000 + Pension + 25 Days Holiday (Pro Rata) + Company Benefits

Are you a Technical Manager or Senior Quality professional looking to gain experience within a large-scale bakery ingredients environment where you can take ownership of technical standards, maintain compliance and play a key role in supporting a well-established business?
The site supplies bakery blends and ingredient solutions to major retailers, foodservice businesses and wholesalers across the UK. They are a part of a wider food manufacturing group with a national presence that has continued to invest in the site.
In this role you'll lead the site's technical function, maintaining food safety, quality and compliance standards across a large-scale manufacturing operation. You'll oversee a small technical team, manage audits and customer requirements, and act as the site's key technical expert.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a technical or quality leadership role within food manufacturing, with a strong understanding of BRC, HACCP and quality systems. Bakery experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other food manufacturing environments will also be considered.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of an established technical department where strong systems are already in place, allowing them to focus on maintaining standards, supporting the business and driving continuous improvement.
You'll be responsible for:
Leading the site's technical and quality functions, ensuring food safety and compliance standards are maintained.
Managing audits, customer requirements and quality systems
Leading a small technical team while acting as the site's technical expert.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the wider leadership team on technical matters.
Ideal candidates will have:
Experienced in a Technical or Quality management role within food manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, food safety and quality management systems.
Experience managing audits, compliance standards and customer-facing technical requirements.
A proactive leadership style, with bakery manufacturing experience being advantageous but not essential.
