Design & Technology Technician - South London

Are you an organised and practical Design & Technology Technician looking for your next role in South London? Academics is working with several secondary schools across South London and is seeking a skilled Design & Technology Technician for long-term and permanent opportunities.

You will support the Design & Technology department by preparing materials, equipment and resources across the full curriculum, including Food Technology, Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles and CAD/CAM. You will also maintain specialist classrooms and workshops, manage stock, ensure health and safety compliance, and support the smooth delivery of practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Design & Technology Technician or in a similar technical or practical role (school experience desirable but not essential).
The ability to support the full range of Design & Technology subjects, including Food Technology, Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles and CAD/CAM.
Knowledge of workshop and food hygiene health and safety procedures.
Experience preparing materials, ingredients, tools and equipment for practical lessons.
Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting staff and students.
