Bury Freelance Tier 1 Consultancy Transport Infrastructure
I'm working with a leading Tier 1 consultancy that has been appointed to support
Transport for Greater Manchester on the
Bury Interchange Phase 1 project. They are looking for an experienced
NEC4 Supervisor to provide independent quality and compliance assurance throughout construction.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high profile transport infrastructure scheme that will form the first phase of the wider redevelopment of Bury Interchange.
The Project The enabling works include:
- New pedestrian bridge over the Metrolink
- Metrolink platform and canopy refurbishment
- Overhead line equipment improvements
- Signalling works
- Buffer stop relocation
- Platform equipment and signage upgrades
- Subway infill works
- Landscaping and pedestrian access improvements
- Refurbishment of the Stop Equipment Room
The Role You'll act as the NEC4 Supervisor, ensuring the works are delivered in accordance with the Works Information, design requirements and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring construction quality and compliance with the Works Information
- Undertaking and witnessing inspections and testing, including off site inspections where required
- Identifying, recording and managing Defects throughout the project
- Producing inspection records, Defect logs, quality documentation and weekly site reports
- Working closely with the Contractor, Project Manager and TfGM representatives to resolve technical and quality issues
- Supporting programme reviews, Completion inspections and Defects Certificates
- Reviewing Health and Safety Files and Operation & Maintenance documentation
- Promoting safe working practices across the project
Requirements To be considered you'll have:
- Proven experience working as an NEC4 Supervisor on rail, highways or major infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of NEC4 Supervisor responsibilities including inspections, testing, Defect management and certification
- Experience monitoring quality against specifications, design information and accepted programmes
- Ability to produce clear, auditable quality and inspection records
- Experience using CEMAR, SharePoint or similar contract administration systems
- Relevant engineering qualifications and health & safety certifications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently whilst liaising with contractors, clients and project teams
