Senior Site Engineer - Civil Engineering & Main Contracting

Salary / Rate: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum OR £350 - £450 per day Location: Faversham, Kent

Contract: Permanent or Freelance

Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting a highly technical Senior Site Engineer on behalf of a leading South East Civil Engineering & Construction Main Contractor.

The Client

Our client is a top-tier regional civil engineering and construction main contractor. They deliver a vast array of technical projects encompassing industrial units, commercial developments, schools, and highly secure government infrastructure across Kent. Due to the complex nature of their upcoming earthworks and structural projects, they require a Senior Engineer to lead the technical delivery.

The Role

This is a senior technical role where you will act as the crucial link between the design teams and site execution. You will oversee all engineering activities on multi-million-pound schemes that heavily feature complex groundworks, massive earth-moving phases, and intricate sub-structures.

Your duties will include:

Technical Leadership: Managing, mentoring, and coordinating junior Site Engineers and surveying teams.

Complex Setting Out: Overseeing and verifying the accurate setting out of complex sub-structures, deep drainage networks, and heavily engineered foundations.

Quality Assurance (QA): Taking ownership of site QA, writing and reviewing ITPs, and ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications.

Design Coordination: Reviewing complex design information, raising technical queries (RFIs), and resolving engineering challenges before they impact the programme. Requirements

Essential: Extensive experience operating as a Senior Site Engineer for a reputable Civil Engineering contractor or Main Contractor.

Essential: A highly technical background in heavy earthworks, RC frames, complex sub-structures, and topographical surveying.

Essential: Highly proficient with modern robotic surveying equipment (Trimble/Leica) and AutoCAD.

Qualifications: Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering and a valid CSCS Card. What's on Offer
