Concrete Foreman Birmingham £24.67 per hour PAYE

VGC Group are looking for an experienced Concrete Foreman to join a major construction project in Birmingham. This opportunity is available for an immediate start and offers up to 2 years' work for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong site presence, supervising concrete operations while supporting the workforce to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Rate: £24.67 per hour
Hours: 50 hours per week
Contract: Ongoing
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a Foreman or Supervisory role within concrete, civils, or construction projects

Essential:
CSCS Gold or Black Card
SMSTS
First Aid at Work

Desirable:
CPCS / NPORS
Temporary Works Awareness
CAT & Genny
Concrete placement and finishing experience

Responsibilities
As a Concrete Foreman, your duties will include both supervisory and practical responsibilities:
Site Supervision

Leading and supervising concrete gangs, subcontractors, and site operatives
Allocating daily tasks and ensuring works are completed safely and to programme
Providing clear instructions and technical guidance to site teams
Monitoring productivity and maintaining progress against project schedules
Ensuring quality standards are achieved throughout all concrete works

Concrete Operations
Overseeing concrete pours, finishes, and curing activities
Coordinating formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement activities
Ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and method statements
Supporting the workforce when required to ensure timely delivery of works
Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise delays

Health & Safety
Delivering daily briefings and toolbox talks
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures
Carrying out site inspections and addressing unsafe practices immediately
Reporting incidents, near misses, and hazards
Promoting a strong safety culture across all site activities

Site Coordination
Managing labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors effectively
Liaising with Site Managers, Engineers, and Project Teams
Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project requirements
Maintaining accurate site records, permits, inspections, and reports
Keeping work areas safe, clean, and organised

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Valid CSCS Gold or Black Card
SMSTS Certificate
First Aid at Work Certificate
Proven experience as a Concrete Foreman, General Foreman, or Supervisor
Experience managing concrete gangs on civil engineering or construction projects
Strong knowledge of formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Reliable and committed attitude
