About the Role
Join the organisation, a leading provider of infrastructure services, and play a pivotal role within the site integrated Health and Safety team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). As an HSE Advisor, you will champion the HPC way by ensuring health, safety, environmental, and welfare standards are consistently met across a multi-functional, disciplined project. Your responsibilities will include monitoring practices across project teams and contractors, building strong relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor, and conducting regular HSE inspections. You will provide competent specialist advice to project management and leadership teams, support training initiatives, assist with accident and incident investigations, and ensure compliance with site procedures and regulations. This role requires splitting your time between site and office environments, performing inspections each shift, intervening when unsafe practices are observed, and proposing corrective solutions. Flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties appropriate to the role are essential. Working with the organisation means contributing to the success of a critical infrastructure project while being part of a collaborative and dynamic environment focused on innovation and excellence.
Requirements
Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or equivalent
- Background in COSHH and DSEAR regulations
- IOSH membership or equivalent professional accreditation
- Site-based experience in a similar role, ideally within the nuclear industry
- Understanding of nuclear site licence conditions and health and safety regulations
- Auditing experience or relevant qualification
- Strong investigative skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate with proficiency in productivity suite
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including Level 3 Award in Education and trade-specific certifications
