IT Engineer (Short-Term Contract) Outside ir35

We're currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation seeking an experienced
IT Engineer to provide hands-on support during a busy period of growth and change.
This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile IT professional who enjoys a varied role, combining day-to-day technical support with the confidence to take ownership of small projects and provide guidance across the wider IT function.
The RoleWorking as part of a small IT team, you'll be responsible for supporting users across a Microsoft-based environment while assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the IT infrastructure. You'll act as a reliable point of contact for technical issues, helping to prioritise workloads, maintain systems, and ensure a high level of service across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st, 2nd and some 3rd line technical support to internal users.
- Support and administer Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy and user administration.
- Assist with hardware deployment, software installations and device configuration.
- Support networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and switching.
- Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer and mobile device issues.
- Work alongside senior stakeholders to coordinate IT priorities and ensure business continuity.
- Maintain documentation and follow IT best practices.
- Assist with ongoing infrastructure improvements and IT projects where required.

You'll ideally have experience with:
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Windows Server
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID
- Windows desktop support
- Basic networking knowledge
- Backup solutions and endpoint security
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
