Graduate Teaching Assistant - KS2 (1:1 Support)

Primary School Waltham Forest September 2026 Start

Salary: 95- 100 per day (PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest that is seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its team from September 2026.

This rewarding role will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil working across Years 3 and 4 (KS2). The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within a nurturing classroom environment.

The school is particularly keen to appoint a graduate with a creative background, believing that imaginative approaches can make a real difference to children's learning and engagement. Graduates with degrees in subjects such as Art, Drama, Music, Creative Writing, Media, or similar creative disciplines are encouraged to apply. Previous experience supporting children or young people is highly desirable, and applicants must be able to provide referenceable experience from previous employment or placements.

Knowledge or experience of supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous, although a positive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn are equally important.

The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will:

• Hold a degree, ideally in a creative subject.
• Ideally have previous referenceable experience working with children or young people.
• Demonstrate an interest in supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a proactive approach to the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Be committed to helping every child succeed.
