We are supporting a West Midlands local authority in the appointment of an experienced and ambitious Head of Housing to join their senior leadership team on an initial 18-month contract.

This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an exceptional housing professional to provide strategic direction and operational leadership across the Housing Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of efficient, effective and customer-focused services, while driving improvement, transformation and innovation in line with the Council's strategic priorities.

Working closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team, elected members and key partners, you will play a pivotal role in shaping housing policy, improving service outcomes and ensuring the Council meets its statutory responsibilities. You will lead a culture of continuous improvement, embed strong performance management, ensure effective financial stewardship and champion value for money across the service.

You will be an influential and visible leader, capable of inspiring teams, managing change and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including residents, community organisations, public sector partners and service providers.

We are seeking a strategic thinker with a strong track record of senior housing leadership within local government or a comparable public service environment. You will bring political awareness, commercial focus and the ability to deliver meaningful improvements in complex and changing circumstances.
