Hays Education are looking for compassionate, reliable and adaptable Supply Teaching Assistants to work within Complex SEN Schools in the Stockport area. These schools cater for pupils with a range of needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and associated medical or behavioural challenges.Location: StockportContract: Flexible Supply / TemporaryRate: Up to £125/dayKey Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with complex SEN needs in classroom and 1:1 settings.
• Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and interventions.
• Provide support with communication, sensory needs, and personal care where required.
• Promote independence and engagement through structured routines and positive reinforcement.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
• Ensure safeguarding and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Experience working with children with complex SEN needs (school or care setting preferred)
• Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with Autism, SLD, or PMLD
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations
• A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable learners
• A strong commitment to supporting learners with additional needs and their families
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
