Role - Media Manager

Client - University of Southampton

Location - Highfield Campus SO17

Salary - 24.50 per hour

Type - 6 Month Minimum, Hybrid working

Tate are looking for an experienced Media Manager to lead proactive media relations activity, secure high-profile coverage, and tell compelling stories that enhance the University of Southampton's reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop newsworthy stories across the organisation.
• Write press releases, features and media content.
• Build strong relationships with journalists, editors and broadcasters.
• Manage media enquiries and organise interviews, press briefings and photo opportunities.
• Support and coach senior stakeholders in media engagement.
• Deliver proactive media campaigns and contribute to crisis communications.

About You

You'll have:

• Proven experience in media relations, PR or communications.
• A track record of securing national or international media coverage.
• Excellent writing, storytelling and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience translating complex information into engaging content.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
