Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Design Technology Teacher with experience delivering Food Technology, looking for a new opportunity in a successful secondary school in Tameside?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a flexible and innovative Design Technology Teacher, with the ability to teach Food Technology, to join a well-regarded secondary school in Tameside. This full-time, long-term maternity cover role is due to start in October 2026, although an earlier start can be accommodated for the right candidate. The position is expected to last for at least 9 months and offers a daily rate of up to 241 per day, depending on experience and M scale point.

To join us and be successful in this Design Technology Teacher role, you will need to:

• Hold QTS Status or QTLS
• Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
• Provide a CV with full employment/education history with any employment breaks explained
• Have the legal right to work in the UK

The role

The successful candidate will teach Design Technology with a focus on Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will join a supportive and well-resourced department that is passionate about delivering engaging, practical lessons which inspire students to develop essential life skills alongside their curriculum knowledge. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management and the ability to deliver creative, high-quality lessons that enable all learners to make excellent progress.
