Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington

Pay: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming secondary school in Islington seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people or for graduates considering a future career in teaching.

The Role

Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in lessons.

Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.

Work alongside teachers and the SEND department to help students access learning.

Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.

Build positive relationships with pupils to improve confidence and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, sports coaching or similar.

Patient, proactive and adaptable.

Strong communication skills.

Passion for education and helping students succeed.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
