Location: Horsham Area
Contract: Part-Time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS 1 - 6

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-regarded independent through school in the Horsham area, who are seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Business and Economics Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated students within a high-achieving and supportive environment that values academic excellence and holistic development.

About the Role

As a Business and Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5. You will be responsible for fostering a strong understanding of business principles and economic theory, while encouraging critical thinking, real-world application, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Business and Economics lessons aligned with GCSE and A-Level specifications
  • Teach across KS4 and KS5, supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
  • Create an engaging, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom environment
  • Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school goals
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities or academic clubs

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Business and/or Economics at secondary level, including KS5 (desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for business and economics education
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to inspire and challenge high-achieving students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to high standards and student achievement
  • Enthusiasm for working within an independent school environment

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Two professional teaching references
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
