Are you a skilled and motivated Primary HLTA looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity within a supportive school environment?

Academics are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Rotherham who are seeking an experienced Primary HLTA to join their team on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Position: Primary HLTA
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Long-term ongoing role with possible temp-to-perm opportunity
Pay: per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

This Primary HLTA role in Rotherham offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to provide classroom cover, deliver targeted interventions, and support pupils across the primary curriculum.

The role may include leading lessons during PPA cover, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, and helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher PPA time and absence
  Support pupils through whole-class, small group, and 1:1 learning
  Deliver targeted interventions to raise attainment and engagement
  Promote positive behaviour and classroom expectations
  Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  Provide feedback on pupil progress and participation
  Support pupils with additional needs where required
  Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and leadership teams
  Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Level 4 HLTA qualification or degree (essential)
  Previous experience delivering lessons and leading learning
  Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  Confident, adaptable, and proactive approach
  Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
