Duties as a Food Technician:
As a Food Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Food Technology department and ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical lessons
- Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when required
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workspaces
- Supporting teachers during practical sessions
- Ensuring teaching areas are organised and ready for use
Ideal Food Technician:
- Previous experience working within a food, catering, hospitality, or school environment
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for supporting young people's learning
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
