Primary Teaching Assistant - Lewisham

Remedy Education are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Primary Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Lewisham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development within a primary school setting. The schools are looking for confident, proactive and nurturing candidates who can support pupils in class, work with small groups and provide 1:1 support where needed.

This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, graduate, aspiring teacher, or someone with strong childcare, tutoring or youth work experience.

Role Details:

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Lewisham
Pay: 100- 117 per day
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
School Type: Primary School

The Role:

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
Work with pupils on a 1:1, small group and whole-class basis
Assist the class teacher with learning activities and classroom routines
Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, phonics and creative learning
Help maintain positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
Support pupils with different abilities, including those with additional needs
Help create a calm, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working with children or young people
Experience in a school, nursery, tutoring, childcare or youth work setting is desirable
A patient, positive and reliable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs
A genuine interest in education and child development
An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
