Senior Security Engineer

1 Year Contract

£650 - £700/Day Inside IR35

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer for our Government client. This role can be based at whichever if your nearest of their hubs (UK wide options), and will be office based 40%, and remote based 60%.

The Senior Security Engineer role is an initial 1 year contract paying between £650 - £700/Day Inside IR35. This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:

• The workload for their Security Operations function is increasing as they have to deal with more alerts and incidents, without the benefit of automation and analytics to reduce the manual effort and improve the response time
• Moreover, they have to comply with the increasing Government standards and expectations for security monitoring, such as the Cyber Assessment Framework and the Minimum Cyber Security Standard
• They are prioritising GovAssure assessments for all critical services which include security monitoring compliance checks.
• There is lack of internal capability in terms of security resources with skillset to deliver this as this is a new initiative from Justice Digital.
• Implement, configure, and manage Palo Alto Networks XSIAM platform to ensure optimal performance and security
• Develop and maintain security policies, rules, and configurations to enhance threat detection and response capabilities
• Integrate XSIAM with other security tools and information systems to automate security operations and workflows
• Conduct continuous monitoring and analysis of security alerts and incidents to identify trends and potential threats
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to share threat intelligence and improve overall security awareness
• Provide technical support and guidance on cybersecurity matters to IT and business units.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, technologies, and Palo Alto Networks' offerings to continuously improve security operations
• Prepare and present reports on security incidents, trends, and the overall effectiveness of security measures to senior management. These resources supplement existing resources within the MIP and SOC teams.
