English Functional Skills Tutor - Apprenticeships

Are you passionate about helping learners develop essential English skills and achieve their apprenticeship goals? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Functional Skills Tutor to join a growing apprenticeship team in York.

The Role

As an English Functional Skills Tutor, you will deliver engaging and effective English Functional Skills teaching to apprentices from a range of vocational sectors. You will support learners to build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their qualifications, enabling them to progress successfully in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English Functional Skills teaching to apprenticeship learners.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
• Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments and develop individual learning plans.
• Track learner progress and provide timely feedback and support.
• Prepare learners for Functional Skills examinations and assessments.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, AET, CET or equivalent).
• Has experience delivering English Functional Skills qualifications.
• Possesses strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Is passionate about supporting adult learners and apprentices to succeed.
• Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Holds GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years' referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed.
