Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: Up to 105 per day PAYE

We're working with a friendly primary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint a Year 1 Teaching Assistant for a September start.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the classroom. You'll work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, helping to build their confidence and keep them engaged throughout the school day.

• Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
• Working with small groups and individual pupils who need extra support.
• Helping to deliver phonics, reading, writing and maths activities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a welcoming classroom environment.
• Preparing classroom resources and assisting with general classroom organisation.

• Has experience working with primary-aged children, either in a school or a similar setting.
• Is patient, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Is enthusiastic about helping children learn and develop.
• Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or has suitable experience (preferred but not essential).
