Key Skills
  • Advanced Subject Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Mathematics, including algebra, geometry, ratio, and statistics.
  • Behavior Management: Ability to implement positive behaviour strategies to maintain a focused, productive learning environment.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Skill in tailoring lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs, stretching high-retainers while scaffolding for SEND and EAL students.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in tracking student progress data to identify mathematical misconceptions and implement swift interventions.
  • Formative Assessment: Expertise in utilising live marking, low-stakes testing, and verbal feedback to push student progress.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for breaking down abstract concepts and engaging students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Mathematics lessons that challenge and support all students.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of assigned pupils.
  • Set high expectations for student behaviour, maintaining a purposeful, safe, and mathematically rich classroom climate.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the department's schemes of work and mastery resources.
  • Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and whole-school training days.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting the holistic development of students.
  • Identify students requiring extra support and implement targeted interventions to boost GCSE achievement.
  • Uphold and implement all school and Trust policies, including safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Mark students work regularly in line with the school's feedback and assessment policy.
  • Engage continuously in professional development to refine pedagogy and improve teaching practice.
What We Offer:
