As a People Advisor in the Not For Profit sector, based in Merseyside, you'll provide key support to the Human Resources team. You'll handle day-to-day HR tasks, ensuring smooth processes and offering expert guidance on employment matters.

A not-for-profit organisation located in Merseyside.

Description

Manage a diverse portfolio of employee relations cases, providing professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of workforce matters.

Support performance management activities, including capability processes, performance improvement plans, and the effective use of people data and HR systems.

Take a lead role in attendance management, overseeing absence monitoring, conducting return-to-work discussions, and supporting the management of long-term absence cases.

Provide clear and practical advice on organisational policies, procedures, employment legislation, and HR best practice to ensure consistency and compliance.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with managers and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters.

Collaborate with operational and corporate teams to deliver a high-quality, consistent, and customer-focused People service across the organisation.

Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, talent development, and apprenticeship initiatives to help attract and retain a skilled workforce.

Contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy, organisational change programmes, and wider business improvement projects.

Identify learning and development requirements and work with stakeholders to source and implement appropriate training solutions.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring data quality, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.

Work constructively with trade union representatives and employee forums to build positive employee relations and support effective consultation.

Drive continuous improvement by promoting efficient processes, maximising the use of technology, and ensuring value for money.

Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with health and safety requirements, equality and diversity principles, safeguarding standards, and organisational policies.Profile

Essential

A recognised professional qualification in Human Resources, People Management, or a related discipline (or working towards such a qualification), or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Proven experience in a People, Human Resources, or Employee Relations role, providing advice and support across a broad range of workforce matters.

Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical workplace setting.

Experience supporting managers with attendance management, performance improvement, capability, conduct, and employee wellbeing matters.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines.

High attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate, confidential, and compliant employee records.

Strong digital literacy, including experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

A proactive, resilient, and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and delivering high-quality people services.

Desirable

Experience of working with trade unions, employee representatives, or consultative forums.

Knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, workforce planning, talent development, or succession planning initiatives.

Experience supporting organisational change, engagement, or continuous improvement programmes.

Salary on offer £36,651.00

12-month Fixed-term contract in the not-for-profit sector.

Hybrid working pattern (3 days in the office and 2 days from home)
