Job Advertisement: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reporting To: Engineering Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Folkestone, Kent

Hours: Monday -Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-4 shift 42 hours a week with a 30-minute lunch break

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will:

Drive site performance (OEE) and support new project initiatives.

Ensure the maintenance and repair of all production and plant equipment, focusing on continuous improvement.

Execute maintenance procedures and prioritise tasks according to plant needs and production schedules.

Conduct regular checks and tests on all plant machinery to maintain operational specifications.

Uphold Health and Safety and Quality procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Comply with Corporate, Health and Safety, and Environmental standards, including the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.

Assist in training others in key skills and develop training plans in collaboration with management.

Communicate effectively with engineering teams, sharing updates and insights on equipment performance.

What You Bring to the Table:

We are looking for candidates with:

Extensive experience with processing and packaging machinery.

Mechanical and electrical qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ L3 equivalent)

A knack for troubleshooting and resolving PLC and robotic issues.

Proven experience in reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.

A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement and SMED projects.

Basic Lean Six Sigma qualifications (yellow or green belt) are ideal.

Skills and Competencies:

A positive, can-do attitude towards problem-solving.

Strong independent working capabilities and excellent time management.

Effective communication skills to engage with all levels of staff and contractors.

A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Detail-oriented with experience in formal problem-solving techniques.
