Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer - Highways / Infrastructure
Location: Surrey (Major Highways Project)
Rate: Excellent Outside IR35 day rate (DOE)
Contract: Initial 6-month contract with strong potential to extend beyond 12 months, plus opportunities on additional local projects.
Start: ASAP

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join a major highways and infrastructure project in Surrey. Reporting directly to the Senior Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of earthworks, drainage, Section 278 works, carriageway construction and associated highways infrastructure.
This is a long-term contract offering an excellent Outside IR35 rate and genuine continuity of work on major civil engineering projects.

• Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, assist with the day-to-day engineering delivery of the project.
• Carry out setting out, surveying and verification of construction works.
• Supervise daily site activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to specification.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support delivery of earthworks, drainage, Section 278 and carriageway works.
• Manage QA documentation, ITPs, inspections, testing records and as-built information.
• Produce and update accurate as-built surveys and AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to maintain programme.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports.
• Assist with project handover documentation, Health & Safety Files and commissioning activities.
• Identify and resolve engineering issues, escalating where appropriate.

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects.
• Strong background in earthworks, drainage, Section 278 works and carriageway construction.
• Confident using surveying equipment for setting out and as-built surveys.
• Experience with QA documentation, ITPs and AutoCAD is desirable.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SSSTS desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
