Customer Service Operator
Red Recruitment is recruiting a Customer Service Operator for our client on a full-time, four-month fixed-term contract. This is a remote position with a start date of 3rd August.
This role is perfect for someone with an empathetic and attentive approach who is passionate about supporting the community. You will join a small, experienced Customer Services team, making anniversary calls, validating data and building positive relationships with customers, including vulnerable individuals.
Benefits and Package for Customer Services Operator:
Salary: 12.81 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - 5 days per week, between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Sunday
Contract: Full-time, 4-month fixed-term contract

Please note that this position is subject to pre-employment screening, including a basic DBS check and two years of referencing. All screening must be completed before the successful candidate's start date.
Key Responsibilities of Customer Service Operator:
- Deliver excellent customer service across telephone, email and internal systems, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries.
- Make anniversary calls to customers and build positive, professional relationships.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with customers, including vulnerable individuals.
- Resolve customer queries and escalate complex or sensitive issues when required.
- Maintain accurate customer records and complete administrative tasks, including referrals, support requests, complaints and general enquiries.
- Follow established processes, service standards and timescales to deliver a high-quality customer experience.
- Handle sensitive information confidentially and comply with GDPR, safeguarding, data protection and information security requirements.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns relating to children and vulnerable adults in line with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support team objectives and adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
- Contribute to service improvements, reporting activities and other ad hoc tasks as required.
Key Skills and Experience of Customer Service Operator:
- A genuine desire to help the community, with an empathetic and attentive approach to customers' needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use initiative
- Experience in a customer-facing role, either face-to-face or over the telephone
- Previous experience in a similar contact centre or call centre role is advantageous
- Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Able to manage sensitive or challenging conversations professionally and discreetly
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different customer service activities
- A collaborative and flexible approach to changing priorities and workloads
