Temporary Accommodation Team Leader to lead a busy team delivering high-quality housing management services to homeless households living in temporary accommodation.

- 26.68 per hour PAYE / 35.48 per hour Umbrella

The Role
As Temporary Accommodation Team Leader, you will manage and support a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers, ensuring the effective management of temporary accommodation stock, tenancy sustainment, repairs, voids, and landlord relationships. You will play a key role in maintaining high service standards, improving performance, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and health and safety requirements.
You will also deputise for the Temporary Accommodation Manager when required and work closely with internal departments, accommodation providers, landlords, and partner agencies to deliver positive outcomes for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers.
- Oversee the management of temporary accommodation, including voids, lettings, repairs and compliance matters.
- Monitor landlord and accommodation provider performance, escalating issues where necessary.
- Manage complex tenancy, safeguarding, anti-social behaviour and homelessness cases.
- Respond to complaints, Member enquiries and other escalated casework.
- Drive service improvements and ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Support tenancy sustainment initiatives to help residents maintain accommodation and move into settled housing.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience leading or supervising teams within temporary accommodation, homelessness, housing management or related services.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation, including the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act.
- Experience managing landlord relationships and accommodation providers.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality services and improving team performance.
- The ability to manage a demanding workload within a fast-paced environment.
